Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1619 – Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (Barry Avenue)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1619, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (Barry Avenue).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (Barry Avenue) Project is located at:

  • West Barry Avenue from North Narraganset Avenue to North Melvina Avenue, Chicago, IL

The project consists of a Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction Project, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the location indicated above. Work includes but isn’t limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main and drainage structures, water main, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, tree removal and planting.

Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (‘NTP’) for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP.
