Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1608 – Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (South Central Park Ave. and East 91st St.)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1608, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (South Central Park Ave. and East 91st St.).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (South Central Park Ave. and East 91st St.) Projects are located at:

  • South Central Park Avenue from West 75th Place to West 75th Street, Chicago, IL 60652
  • East 91st Street from South Woodlawn Ave. to South Avalon Ave, Chicago, IL 60619

The projects consist of Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of South Central Park Avenue from W.75Th Place to W. 75th Street and East 91st Street from S. Woodlawn Ave.to S. Avalon Ave. Work includes but is not limited to; Earth excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, water main, sewer and drainage structures, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, and tree planting.

BID OPENING:

Sealed bids shall be received electronically by James Borkman, Director of Procurement james.borkman@cityofchicago.org and bids@pbcchicago.com the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, by 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024. A Public Bid Opening, streamed on the PBC YouTube channel, will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
