PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Class A Prequalified firms to bid on PBC Contract C1599, Belmont Cragin Elementary School.
The Belmont Cragin Elementary School will be located at 6112 West Fullerton Avenue, in Chicago, Illinois.
The project consists of the construction of a new 3-story, approximately 85,900GSF, Chicago Public School (CPS) building, and gymnasium facility linked to an existing Chicago Park District (CPD) Fieldhouse, along with site development and CPD interior renovations as part of the link. The existing Riis Park Fieldhouse’s main building will remain except for the 1-story rear gymnasium wing which will be demolished. Interior renovations within the CPD Fieldhouse will also consist of scope for the Fire Alarm System and utility upgrades. A new multi-purpose cafeteria, gymnasium and auditorium wing will be built to serve both the new elementary school, as well as the Chicago Park District programming and events. This Project includes a Phasing Plan.

BID OPENING:
Sealed bids shall be received at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, between 9:00a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 (updated via Addendum No. 3). PLEASE NOTE: The PBC office located at 50 West Washington, Room 200, Chicago, Illinois will only be open for drop off of bids on May 12, 2021 commencing at 9:30a.m. Mail has been sporadic due to COVID-19. The PBC recommends firms submit their bid electronically to bids@pbcchicago.com and patricia.montenegro@cityofchicago.org. Please refer to Book 1 Instructions to Bidders, Submission of Bids, for further instructions. Public Bid Opening will be held immediately following receipt of bids.
