PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1618, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (South Oakley, East 94th, and South Oakley).
The WPA Street Reconstruction (South Oakley Avenue/Garfield Boulevard, East 94th Street, and South Oakley Avenue/58th Street) Projects are located at:
- South Oakley Avenue from West Garfield Boulevard to West 57th Street, Chicago, IL
- East 94th Street from East End Avenue to South Cregier Avenue, Chicago, IL
- South Oakley Avenue from West 58th Street to West 59th Street, Chicago, IL
These project consists of a Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the (3) locations indicated above. Work includes but isn’t limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main and drainage structures, water main, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, and tree planting.
Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (‘NTP’) for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, PBC will host a Non-Mandatory Virtual Pre-Bid Meeting at 10:00 a.m., and a Non-Mandatory Virtual Technical Review Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on ZOOM virtual meeting platform.

BID OPENING:
Sealed bids shall be received electronically by James Borkman, Director of Procurement at: james.borkman@cityofchicago.org and pbc-procurement@cityofchicago.org the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, by 11 a.m. January 23, 2025. A Public Bid Opening, streamed on the PBC YouTube channel, will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
