Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1617 – Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (West 112th Street & South Loomis Street)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1617, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (West 112th Street and South Loomis Street).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (West 112th Street & South Loomis Street) Projects are located at:

  • West 112th Street from South Fairfield Avenue to South Rockwell Street, Chicago, IL
  • South Loomis Street from West 121st Street to West 120th Street, Chicago, IL

The project consists of a Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction Project, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the two (2) locations indicated above. Work includes but isn’t limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main, water main and drainage structures, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, roadway lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, and tree removal and planting.

Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (‘NTP’) for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP.

On Monday, December 30, 2024, PBC will host a Non-Mandatory Virtual Pre-Bid Meeting at 10:00 a.m., and a Non-Mandatory Virtual Technical Review Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on ZOOM virtual meeting platform.

BID OPENING:

Sealed bids shall be received electronically by James Borkman, Director of Procurement at: james.borkman@cityofchicago.org and pbc-procurement@cityofchicago.org the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, by 11 a.m. January 9, 2025. A Public Bid Opening, streamed on the PBC YouTube channel, will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
