Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1594 – Chicago Park District Group A (C1594)
Project Description:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all PBC Chicago Park District Capital Improvement Program prequalified firms to bid on PBC Contract C1594, for the rehabilitation of four (4) Chicago Park District Facilities. The Project consists of the following partial renovations as follows:
Austin Town Hall, located at 5610 W. Lake Street, Chicago, IL 60644 consists of one field house. Scope includes accessible companion restroom, wheel chair lift, accessible basement locker rooms, accessible exterior paths with main entrance ramp, new downspouts, and basement water infiltration repair at foundation wall. Alternates include 1st floor accessible bathroom renovation and entrance desk millwork.
Lincoln Park Cultural Center, located at 2045 N. Lincoln Park W., Chicago, IL 60614 consists of one field house. Scope includes a new tile roof including gutters and drains matching the original historic materials with associated abatement work and stone masonry repointing. Alternates include interior repair, attic insulation and associated abatement.
Columbus Park, located at 500 S. Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60644 consists of one field house connected by an arcade to an athletic building, and a separate refectory building. Scope includes repair of athletic building windows/doors with associated abatement work; field house exterior trim repair/replacement; masonry repairs on all three buildings; stonework at the refectory patio balustrades; floor and roof repairs on the arcade; exterior regrading for drainage at the arcade; downspout repair at the field house and athletic buildings. Alternates include field house bathrooms with associated abatement work; expanded athletic building gym floor refinishing/striping; and additional athletic building windows.
La Follette Park located at 1333 N. Laramie Ave, Chicago, IL 60651 consists of one field house. Scope includes exterior brick chimney repairs, exterior stone repointing, window repairs with associated abatement, locker room flooring, roof replacements at the colonnade, crescent roof and low flat roof, internal downspout repairs, and interior plaster repair. Alternates include additional stone repair and additional window repair.

Pre-Bid Activities:
On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in the Columbus Park Boxing Room (#105), located at 500 South Central Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60604, PBC will host a Pre-Bid Meeting at 9:30 a.m., a Mandatory Technical Review Meeting at 10:00a.m., and a Mandatory Site Visit at 11:00a.m. Attendees are to enter through Main Entrance lobby near Congress and Central Avenue. Parking is available in the parking lot north of the Field House on Central Avenue.
Two (2) of (4) Chicago Park District facilities will be visited this day. The first Site Visit will commence immediately following the Mandatory Tech Review at Columbus Park, 500 S. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL, followed by the second Site Visit at Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake Street, Chicago, IL at 2:00p.m. The Mandatory Tech Review held at Columbus Park will address both Columbus Park and Austin Town Hall.
On Friday, February 2, 2018, in the Lincoln Park Cultural Center First Floor Auditorium, located at 2045 N. Lincoln Park W., Chicago, IL, PBC will host a Mandatory Technical Review Meeting at 10:00a.m. and a Mandatory Site Visit at 11:00a.m. Attendees are to enter through West Entrance. Street parking is available but limited. Please arrive early.
Two (2) of (4) Chicago Park District facilities will be visited this day. The first Site Visit will commence immediately following the Mandatory Tech Review at Lincoln Park Cultural Center, 2045 N. Lincoln Park W., Chicago, IL, followed by the second Site Visit at La Follette Park, 1333 N. Laramie Avenue, Chicago, IL at 1:00p.m. The Mandatory Tech Review held at Lincoln Park Cultural Center will address both Lincoln Park Cultural Center and La Follette Park.
Both Technical Reviews and all 4 (four) Site Visit Meetings are mandatory for all eligible, prequalified firms interested in submitting a bid for this Project. Sub-contractors and suppliers are invited to attend these meetings to meet the pre-qualified contractors bidding on this project. The sign-in sheets for the above-mentioned meetings will be posted to the PBC’s website.
Bid Opening:
Sealed bids shall be received at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened.
