PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1620, Chicago Department of Transportation (“CDOT”) Capital Program – Alleys (Various Locations) – Package 3.
The Chicago Department of Transportation (“CDOT”) Capital Program – Alleys (Various Locations) – Package 3 Projects are located at:
- W. Barry Avenue – Project No. 22901 – (Ward 32)
- W. Drummond Place – Project No. 22902 – (Ward 43)
- W. Belden Avenue – Project No. 22903- (Ward 2)
- W. Arthur Avenue – Project No. 22904 – (Ward 50)
- W. Berteau Avenue – Project No. 22905 – (Ward 47)
- W. Hortense Avenue – Project No. 22906 – (Ward 41)
The Project includes reconstruction of alley sewers, subgrade and pavement utilizing recycled construction materials and methods implemented by the City of Chicago, full depth alley pavement reconstruction of City of Chicago alleys. In addition, the Work includes proper handling and disposal of onsite material, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt, surface course, sewer and drainage structures, sewer cleaning and televising, vortex restrictors, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks and ADA Ramps various depths, concrete driveways, concrete garage aprons, concrete alleys, premolded rubber Speed Bumps, permeable concrete block pavers ( W. Drummond Pl.), bedding & void opening aggregates for permeable concrete block pavers, geotechnical fabric, topsoil, and hydraulic seeding.
Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within 30 days of NTP for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. Contractor shall provide critical submittals, including sewer and drainage structures, within 30 days of issuance of the NTP.
Regarding any work in the 50th Ward (Project No. 22904; CDOT Project Number U-5-238), on-site construction Work may not be performed after sunset on Friday through sunset on Saturday. Onsite construction work may not be performed on any of the following dates. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining any/all temporary construction barriers, including signage, throughout the construction duration and acceptance of the Work (Substantial Completion).

- April 12, 2025 – April 14, 2025
- April 18, 2025 -April 20, 2025
- June 1, 2025 – June 3, 2025
- September 22, 2025 – September 24, 2025
- October 1, 2025 – October 2, 2025
- October 6, 2025 – October 8, 2025
- October 13, 2025 – October 15, 2025
Finally, on site construction work at each alley location must be completed within 45 calendar days from commencement.
