Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1604 – Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School Annex and Renovations

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Class A Prequalified firms to bid on PBC Contract C1604, Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School Annex and Renovations.

The Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School is located at 2131 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois.

The project consists of the construction of a new approximately 18,950 square foot, 1-story Annex facility linked to an existing 3-story school building intended to add indoor athletic amenities.  Interior renovations within the existing school building will include but not be limited to: accessibility improvements including a new elevator, with restroom, mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades.  This Project includes a Phasing Plan.

On Thursday, May 25, 2023, PBC will host a Non-Mandatory Site Visit at 7:00 a.m. (updated via Addendum No. 1)  Subcontractors and suppliers are encouraged to attend.

BID OPENING:

Sealed bids shall be received electronically or at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, by 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 (updated via Addendum No. 4).  Public Bid Opening will be held immediately following receipt of bids at 11:00a.m. and will be broadcast live on PBC’s YouTube Live page.

PLEASE NOTE:  The PBC recommends firms submit their bid electronically to: bids@pbcchicago.com and patricia.montenegro@cityofchicago.org.  However, firms may drop off bids (by hand-delivery or messenger service) commencing at 9:30a.m. on June 20, 2023 (updated via Addendum No. 4).  Please refer to Book 1 Instructions to Bidders, Submission of Bids, for further instructions.
