For Immediate Release

Bryant Payne – Public Building Commission,
Director of Communications
(312) 742-0878
WHAT: The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC), the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), Chicago Park District (CPD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), will host a community open house for the Morgan Shoal Revetment Reconstruction project. This flexible approach allows members of the community to come at a time that suits them and spend as long as they need engaging with team members to learn about the project.
WHEN:
Thursday, June 20, 2024
5:00pm – 7:00pm
WHERE:
Nichols Park | 1355 E. 53rd Street Chicago, IL 60615
DETAILS: “The open house allows members of the public to ‘drop-in’ and learn about the reconstruction project in an informal, spontaneous way,” Ray Giderof, PBC’s Acting Executive Director said. “In addition, the less intimidating platform is ideal for members of the community to learn about a particular subject, register their interest in being involved further and ask their burning questions.”
The Morgan Shoal Revetment Reconstruction Project is located along the Lake Michigan Shoreline between 45th and 51st Streets. The project is the latest phase of the Chicago Shoreline Protection Project, a long-term shoreline reconstruction project undertaken by the CDOT, CPD, and the USACE. In conjunction with its partners, the PBC is managing the development of planning, design, procurement, and construction of the project.
