Various Trade Work
The Public Building Commission of Chicago is soliciting the qualifications of Trade Contractors to perform construction work in various trades either under the management of a construction manager engaged by the PBC or directly for the PBC. The various trades for which this RFQ is being issued are: Landscaping/Site Work, Mechanical, Electrical, Interior Finishes, Masonry, Structural Steel, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Security, Information Technology and Roofing.
Request for Qualification Documents: Copies of the RFQ documents may be downloaded here or picked up at The Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, Room 200, 66 West Washington. Modification by the proposer of the forms and documents required in the RFQ may be cause for a qualification submittal to be rejected as non-responsive at the sole discretion of the Commission.
Questions: All questions regarding the RFQ must be submitted in writing to Matthew J. Luzi, Public Building Commission, 66 West Washington, Room 200, Chicago, IL 60602. Questions may also be faxed to Mr. Luzi at 312/744-8005.
Pre-Submittal Conference: A Pre-Submittal Conference will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the 2nd Floor Board Room Richard J. Daley Center. Attendance is strongly encouraged.
Due Date and Time for Responses: Sealed responses shall be submitted and received no later than 4:00 p.m., May 18, 2001 at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, Room 200, 66 West Washington, Chicago, IL 60602. A Trade Contractor seeking qualification is required to submit the RFQ and accompanying documents as stated in the RFQ in order to be considered by the Commission. The Commission will evaluate Qualifications Submittals to determine if a Respondent(s) is qualified to perform construction work in a specific trade. When responses are delivered by mail or messenger to the Commission, the Respondent(s) shall be responsible for their delivery before the due date and time. Late submittals may not be accepted, unless the Executive Director determines that it is in the best interest of the Commission.
Addenda: Any interpretations, corrections, or changes to this RFQ will be made by addenda. Sole issuing authority of addenda shall be vested in the Commission. Addenda will be forwarded by first class mail or facsimile transmittal to all that are known to have received a copy of this RFQ, but the Commission will not guarantee receipt of any addenda sent to the Respondent. It is the responsibility of the Respondent(s) to inquire as to the issuance of any addenda. Proposers shall acknowledge receipt of all addenda in the cover letter of the response.
Target Market: The Public Building Commission reseves the right to evaluate certain trades for inclusion in the Commission’s Target Market Program.
False Statements: Any false statement(s) made by Respondent(s) will void the response and eliminate the Respondent(s) from further consideration.
Subcontractors to General Contractors: Trade Contractors who want to work on Commission projects as a subcontractor to a general contractor are not required to respond to this RFQ to perform as a subcontractor.
