Sealed bids, subject to conditions contained herein and in the Contract Documents, will be received by the Public Building Commission of Chicago until 10:00 a.m., April 19, 2001 at Room 200, Richard J. Daley Center, 66 West Washington Street, Chicago, Illinois 60602, and then and there publicly opened for the General Work – New Natatorium – Father Francis D. Hayes Park, 2940 West 85th Street.
Copies of the forms of Contract Documents including the Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Special Conditions, and Specifications are on file at Harry O. Hefter Associates, Inc., 180 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601, and may be obtained there on request. (A maximum of two copies of complete Bid Documents may be obained by depositing zero($0.00) for each set with Harry O. Hefter Associates, Inc. Additional sets of complete Bid Documents may be obtained through Harry O. Hefter Associates, Inc., at the contractor’s own expense, which amount will not be refundable. Certified or cashier’s checks or money orders are required and must be made payable to “The Public Building Commission of Chicago”.)
Attention is called to special conditions specifying that a percentage of the work be performed by Minority-owned and Women-owned Business Enterprises and the award criteria provision for utilizing minorities and women in the project work force and residency requirements.

A certified, cashier’s check or bid bond for $10,000.00 payable to the Public Building Commission of Chicago shall be submitted with each bid, as a bid guarantee.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, April 9, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the Public Building Commission Board Room, on the Second Floor, in the Richard J. Daley Center. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is strongly encouraged for all proposers.
The Public Building Commission of Chicago reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities in the bidding.
