Project Description:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all PBC Chicago Park District Capital Improvement Program prequalified firms to bid on PBC Contract C1595, for the rehabilitation of four (4) Chicago Park District Facilities.  The Project consists of the following partial renovations as follows:

Harrison Park Facility is located at 1824 South Wood Street, Chicago, Illinois 60608. Scope includes removal and replacement of three roof types and partial rehabilitation of one additional roof type. Included in the roofing scope is an arched roof over the Natatorium, multiple pitched roofs, flat roofs over the locker rooms, flat roofs over field house spaces, rectangular architectural down spouts, gutters, and rodding of all roof drains. Interior renovations include replacement and upgrading existing men’s/women’s locker room toilets and shower plumbing fixtures, toilet partitions and related partition walls, accessories, finishes, and gym floor repairs. Alternate scope includes rebuilding several exterior brick columns and an adjacent small area of plaza pavers.

Archer Park Facility is located at 4901 South Kilbourn Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60632. The scope of work for the rehabilitation includes the removal of an existing tar and gravel low slope roof assembly and its replacement with a new modified bitumen assembly, replacement of failing exterior soffit board and the addition of flashing at the roof overhang, the rodding of all roof drains, removal and replacement of an existing deteriorated at grade metal grating and its support, and sealant replacement at exterior columns. No alternates or interiors are included in the scope of work.

Robichaux Park Facility is located at 9247 South Eggleston Avenue, Chicago Illinois 60620.  Scope includes renovations to the building entries, EDPM coating at roof ducts, partial parking lot ADA restriping, downspouts/routing, gutter guards, classroom entries for accessibility, a new layer of shingles for the slopped roof, skylight closure / new light fixture, lightning protection system, and a new fluid-applied membrane for the mechanical roofs.  Alternate scope includes ground floor bathroom and locker room renovations for accessibility, which include removal of ACM containing pipe elbows in the Janitor’s Closet.

McKinley Park Facility is located at 2210 West Pershing Rd, Chicago, Illinois 60609. Scope includes window and interior wood shutter restoration; exterior building concrete repair, exterior painting, interior painting, and interior structural glazed facing tile salvage and rebuild. No alternates.

Pre-Bid Activities:
On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in the McKinley Park Auditorium, located at 2210 West Pershing Road, Chicago, Illinois 60609, PBC will host a Pre-Bid Meeting at 9:30 a.m., a Mandatory Technical Review Meeting at 10:00a.m., and a Non-Mandatory Site Visit at 12:00p.m. Attendees are to enter through (North) Main Entrance.  Parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the McKinley Park Fieldhouse.

On Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 9:00a.m., Site Visit Walk-throughs for the remaining facilities will commence beginning with the Harrison Park Facility, located at 1824 South Wood Street, Chicago, Illinois 60608.  Attendees are to enter through Main Entrance.  Street parking is available but limited.  Please arrive early.

Following at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, is the Site Visit Walk-through at Archer Park Facility, located at 4901 South Kilbourn Avenue, Chicago Illinois 60632.  Attendees are to enter through Main Entrance.  Parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Archer Park Fieldhouse.

Lastly at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, is the Site Visit Walk-through at the Robichaux Park Facility, located at 9247 South Eggleston Avenue, Chicago Illinois 60620.  Attendees are to enter through Main Entrance.  Parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Robichaux Park Facility.

The Technical Review Meeting is mandatory for all eligible, prequalified firms interested in submitting a bid for this Project. Sub-contractors and suppliers are invited to attend these meetings to meet the pre-qualified contractors bidding on this project. The sign-in sheets for the above-mentioned meetings will be posted to the PBC’s website.

Bid Opening:
Sealed bids shall be received at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, (updated per Addendum No. 1) at which time they will be publicly opened.
