On May 21, 2025, the Public Building Commission hosted its 2nd annual Connection Session at Malcolm X College. At the event, PBC provided updates regarding its current program and upcoming opportunities, provided insight on conducting business with PBC, and encouraged networking and collaboration among its General Contractors, Job Order Contracting firms, Architects/Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, Suppliers, and Assist Agencies. Additionally, the PBC was excited to be joined by students/scholars and administrators from City Colleges of Chicagoes of Chicago – Dawson Technical Institute, Chicago Public Schools’s Early College and Career Education’s Chicago Builds Program, and Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA)s Assistant Project Engineer Training Program. The students and scholars highlighted their achievements and continued career aspirations, while meeting with attendees to learn more about available opportunities, including sponsorships into various local unions. The Connection Session reinforced PBC’s continued commitment to capacity building within the design and construction industries.
