    • Hang out with friends
    • Mess around with digital media in new ways
    • Geek out in workshops that facilitate exploration of core interests
  • Open to all high school-age Chicago teens with a valid library card

Albany Park Branch Library

Based on the Prototype A design, this new 16,500-square-foot, one story full service branch library is proposed to replace the existing Albany Park Branch Library on same site as existing library plus acquisition of adjacent parcel to the west.

LEED features: This building will be designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification and LEED 2009 and will include a 50% green roof.

Edgewater Branch Library

LEED: Gold

Based on a new Prototype C design, this new 16,300-square-foot, two-story full service branch library will replace the existing Edgewater Branch Library.

LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve LEED Silver level certification under LEED 2009 and include a 50% green roof.

Back of the Yards Branch Library

LEED Gold Certified

The PBC is developing the 8,300 square foot Back of the Yards Branch Library within the new Back of the Yards College Preparatory High School. The new library will be a full service branch library within the shared space of the new high school.

Humboldt Park Branch Library Addition

The existing library will receive a new approximately 5,000-square-foot addition, landscaping, and nine new parking spaces on adjacent city-owned land along with minor renovations.

This addition will be designed in the spirit of LEED with sustainable features and will include a rain harvesting system for irrigation and conservation of water use.

Greater Grand Crossing Branch Library

This new 8,800-square-foot, one-story, full service branch library is based on the prototype design.

LEED features: This building will be designed to achieve LEED “Silver” Certification.

Dunning Branch Library

LEED Certified: GOLD

Based on the prototype design, this new 8,800-square-foot, one-story full service branch library will replace the existing Dunning Branch Library and located adjacent to Dever school.

LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve LEED “Silver” level certification.

Little Village Branch Library

Based on the prototype design, this new 16,300-square-foot, one-story full service branch library will be located adjacent to the future Engine Company 109.

LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve LEED “Silver” level certification. This Library project offers the unique opportunity for sustainability through shared site features with the Engine Company.

Based on the prototype design, this new 16,350-square-foot, 1-story full service branch library, housing the District Office and Storage, will have on-site parking for 21 vehicles, a landscaped reading garden and improvements to the public way.

LEED Features: This project is designed to achieve LEED Certification.
