Betsy Ross School Campus Park

The campus park will include a new jogging path, multi-purpose playing field, benches and ornamental lighting. Landscaping will add 50 trees, 29 shrubs and 176 perennials. Playground equipment will be relocated and a new teacher parking lot will be built.

Haugan Middle School Campus

The ground breaking for the new 115,200 square foot school was April 26, 2004. Located adjacent to Jensen Park the school will include 29 classroom, 6 special education classrooms, science room, music room, art room, learning resource center and student dining room. The Chicago Park District will share the school’s multi-purpose room and gymnasium. The three story school will be fully accessible to people with disabilities and will include a state-of-the-art computer network. The school will accommodate roughly 900 students and will be completed in the fall of 2005.

Daniel H. Burnham Academy Campus Park

“Campus parks are invaluable to the quality of life of a community because they provide a peaceful place for residents and families. Philip D. Armour School Campus Park

Armour School, located on an eleven-acre park site in the heart of the Bridgeport area contains two school buildings for children kindergarten age to 8th grade. The park, completed in the fall of 2001, includes two playgrounds complete with soft surfacing, a running track, and a multi purpose playing area. Community members may reflect in the garden area located at the southeast area of the park where decorative benches are located. Ornamental metal fencing and lighting compliment the ambience of the park. All playground equipment and drinking fountains are easily accessible by disabled Chicagoans.
