PBC Alert 12-011 The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) is soliciting qualifications from firms experienced in serving as the Architect of Record (AOR) to provide architectural and engineering services for a project that will likely include major capital renovation, limited demolition, as well as a new addition to the Chicago Vocational Career Academy (CVCA), an existing high school campus located at 2100 East 87th Street. The AOR and its consultants will be responsible for performing a full range of architectural and engineering services, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, contract document development and construction administration services. This project will affect an existing 800,000 square foot high school campus. It is anticipated that some areas of the existing building will be demolished, other spaces within the existing building will be renovated and an addition may also be constructed. The proposed site is approximately 25.2 acres and is bound by Anthony Street on the East, 85th to the North, Chappel to the West and 87th Street to the South. The project will also include significant site development scope of work, inclusive of environmental management and civil and landscape development that will likely include parking and athletic amenities as well as potential exterior vocational training areas.
