Design-Build Services for 2013 School Investment Program

PBC Alert 13-011 The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to engage multiple Design-Build Entities to provide design-build services for the multiple renovation projects for the Chicago Public Schools as part of the 2013 School Investment Program. The PBC will be awarding design-build contracts for the projects in accordance with the requirements of Sections 20.03 through 20.20 of the Public Building Commission Act (50 ILCS 20, et. seq.). The 2013 School Investment Program will include renovations, enhancements and capital investments in approximately 100 school facilities. The list of schools to be included in the program will be finalized by the Chicago Board of Education. Multiple schools will to be assigned to the selected Design-Build Entities. Each multiple facility project has an estimated value of less than $12 million. The objective of the program is to ensure that learning environments are enhanced by the addition of libraries; upgrades to lunchrooms and food service; improved ADA accessibility; classroom air-conditioning; upgraded interiors including as floors, ceilings, and fresh paint; and upgraded electrical systems and envelope repairs. Design-Build Entities will design and build the improvements and enhancements in compliance with CPS standards and, except as specified, will complete the work by August 12, 2013 Submissions must be delivered by Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm (CST) to the attention of Janice Meeks, Public Building Commission of Chicago, Richard J.
