Presentation & Scope Review by Trade for Edwards School Annex

PBC Alert 15-010 The Public Building Commission of Chicago and Berglund Construction are holding a project presentation and scope review by trade for the Richard Edwards IB Fine & Performing Arts Dual Language School Annex on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, 2nd Floor Boardroom. The times for each trade are:

  • 8:00 am Earthwork
  • 8:30 am Site Utilities
  • 9:00 am Demolition
  • 9:30 am Concrete
  • 10:00 am Masonry
  • 10:30 am Elevator
  • 11:00 am Fire Suppression
  • 11:30 am Plumbing
  • 12:00 am Electrical/Communications/Security

This project consists of a three story addition to an existing two story elementary school. The new addition will be structural steel framing with cast in place concrete floors. Exterior walls will be framed from structural stud framing and have a brick veneer with attached aluminum windows. Mechanical equipment will be located on the roof. Interior finishing will be drywall, paint, vinyl tile, lockers, some carpentry and millwork items and door frames and hardware. Site work will include removal of existing pavement, regarding building pad, new grading for parking lot and sidewalk. Also included are the removal of the existing playfield and installation of a new playfield with new playground equipment, site fencing, asphalt, unit pavers and landscaping.
